Bio

Greg Carter is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His music spans many styles from bluegrass to roots rock to piano ballads. His last album, Pride and Joy was released in 2017 and featured an all-star band of grammy nominated bluegrass musicians. His upcoming sophmore release, "Banyan Tree" is an ode to song-craft. It is a mix of roots rock, alt-country and indy rock but all the songs share a focus on the lyrics with the vocals taking center stage.

Greg plays around Austin with his bluegrass band Flat Armadillos and with the new electric Band, Good Line.

When he isn't writing music and playing in his bands, Greg is a volunteer for Sonic Guild, a great non-profit dedicated to the idea that local music is art and deserves the support of the community in the same way operas, symphonies, and theaters have been supported for generations. Sonic guild provides the financial and advising support to enable local musicians to advance their careers and focus on making and performing great music. Greg runs the Sonic Guild gigs program which pairs local bands with companies, non-profits, and private parties looking for entertainment for their events.
